Kerrville, Texas Kenneth E. McGuire, 84, of Kerrville, Texas passed away Saturday, May 17, 2003. Mr. McGuire was born January 21, 1919 in Fowler, Kansas to Earl Wayne and Nellie Elizabeth Beagley McGuire, both deceased.Mr. McGuire spent most of his youthful life in Kansas and Alabama. He was an independent grocery store owner in Kansas before moving to Amarillo, Texas, where he spent 25 years in sales and as a buyer in the mens clothing business. He then married Reva Thomas in June of 1944 in Edna, Kansas. Mrs. McGuire passed away in February of 1985. On October 26, 1985, Mr. McGuire married Alice Hissom in Meade, Kansas, and they moved to Kerrville for retirement where they have spent the last 15 years.Mr. McGuire was a member of the Sidney Baker Church of Christ. He served as a Deacon in Amarillo at Central Church of Christ for 17 years. He was also a member of the Knife and Fork Club, as well as the Kiwanis.He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and four siblings.He is survived by his wife, Alice McGuire of Kerrville daughters, Kaye McGee and husband Randy of Lubbock, Texas, and Kennye Semones and husband Jack of Carrollton, Texas stepson, Ed Hissom and wife Pat of Meade, Kansas brother, Ray McGuire of Pratt, Kansas sister, Dorothy Kroeker of Minneola, Kansas 5 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.Funeral Services will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 19, 2003 at 10:00 AM with Greg Cummings, Minister of Sidney Baker Church of Christ officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Canyon, Texas.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. McGuire to the Sidney Baker Church of Christ Building Fund or to the Muscular Dystrophy Fund.Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
