KERRVILLE Kenneth August Jaeger who was born on March 9, 1935 in Washington, Missouri passed away January 9, 2014 in Kerrville, Texas.
The love of his life, Jessie Jaeger preceded him in death by only 10 months and we, as a family, are comforted in the knowledge that they are together again.
Ken grew up as one of nine children. After graduating high school in Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1952 he married his sweetheart Jessie Stevens in 1954 and was an electronics technician. They soon had their first two children, Cynthia Ann Whelan in 1957 and Phillip Wayne in 1958. In 1960 a third child, Bruce Edward, was born. Ken joined the National Guard and spent the next decade in both New Mexico and Nevada. It was during these early years he worked for the Atomic Energy Commission on Project Gnome in New Mexico and at the Nevada Test Site.
In 1968, he moved the family to Gainesville, Texas. Within one year Jessie was pregnant with their last child and they would make the last move of their life to Kerrville, Texas. James Alan was born in Kerrville in 1970. Ken and Jessie joined Notre Dame Catholic Church and Ken was a charter member in the Knights of Columbus. It was here, in Kerrville, that Ken not only found a home, but built his legacy. He held some interesting jobs including a stint as a manager with the local radio station, KERV. Eventually he built a career with the Kerrville Telephone Company and was instrumental in the installation of Kerrvilles first internet service. But his legacy has nothing to do with his interesting career.
Kenneth August Jaeger will forever be remembered for the Godinspired love, patience, and wisdom he raised his family with. His devotion to his wife was complete. His devotion to his children was complete.
He leaves behind four children, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, seven brothers and a beloved sister, and one example of how our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ taught us to spend our short time in this world.
