June Turner

Kerrville, Texas June Elaine Turner, 85, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at a local hospital. Born on June 20 1921 in Minneapolis, MN to Axel and Anna Byland Jerney, she was raised and attended schools in Minneapolis.Mrs. Turner served in the United States Navy during WWII, and retired as a Naval Officer after serving her country for many years in the Naval Reserve. In the early 1950s, she worked as a civil service employee at the Kerrville VA Hospital before moving on to other military installations in similar capacities, retiring in 1980. She and the love of her life, Ben Turner whom she married in 1967 moved back to Kerrville to enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country that she loved so much, and to be close to her family.Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents and husband a brother, Don Jerney and a sister, Bernice Norquist. She is survived by her niece, Barbara Goldman and husband David of Kerrville nephew, Gary Norquist and wife Sheila of Corpus Christi several greatnieces and nephews along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.ation was held from 5 7 PM, Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, September 11, 2006 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Frankie Enloe officiating.In lieu of floral arrangements, the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association or to the Parkinsons Disease Association.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
