Judith Phillips

Hunt Nina Judith Pittman Phillips, 73, of Hunt, Texas, surrounded by her loving family, entered the gardens of heaven Sunday morning, March 23, 2014. Judy was an incredible wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister, dedicated friend and philanthropist. She was born in Lufkin, Texas, attending the University of Houston where she met her husband, Gary Phillips. They married in 1962, living in Houston for 30 years before relocating to Hunt, Texas.

Judy was passionate in her Christian faith as a dedicated servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, who guided her throughout life. She held her friendships dear, partnering in a landscaping business with one, playing tennis with many, participating in the Houston Junior League, and supporting her friends in any way she could. She was a patriotic American volunteering her time to those sharing her conservative values. Judy also loved and served her canine friends where she founded the Holiday Pet Adoption at the Neiman Marcus Galleria Christmastime promotion for pet adoption with the Houston SPCA. In Kerrville, she started both the PetTherapy and CanineLiteracy programs and was an active board member of the Cathleen C. Cailloux Humane Society of Kerrville.

The family wishes to thank the Peterson Hospice for their support. in particular Julie, Melanie, and Dr. James Young. Also, a special thank you to Judys caregiver friend, Laura Allman.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary her son, Gary Jr. and wife Cheryl, of Katy, Texas her daughter, Janai Bryan and husband Steve, of Austin, Texas and four grandchildren, Preston, Grant, Nicole, and Kynnadi. She will be dearly missed, and never forgotten.

A Memorial ation Casual Gathering in her honor will be held this Friday, March 28, 2013 from 67:30 PM at Kerrville Funeral Home. A Memorial Service Casual Gathering will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2013 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held along the river at 2505 Highway in Hunt, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any donations in her honor be made to the Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 or the Cathleen C. Cailloux Humane Society of Kerrville at 2900 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, Texas 78028.
