J.T. Shelton, 18, entered into rest February 7, 2005 at his residence in Carlsbad, New Mexico.J.T. Shelton was the , most amazing son in the world. He was born John Tyler Shelton on October 15, 1986 in Lubbock, Texas to John Wesley and Robin Fay Blenden Shelton. He moved to Carlsbad from Kingwood, TX in 1995 and was currently attending NMSUC.J.T. was a computer whiz especially at the computer game Counter Strike, an avid music lover, he played the electric and acoustical guitar and he was a member of the Taekwondo Association USA in which he had earned a black belt. He loved daily horseplay with Jenna, Josh, and Shane. He was world renowned for making malts regardless of the ingredients.J.T. was also very athletic: as a youngster, he played football, baseball, soccer, and basketball. He enjoyed sitting in the backyard and letting his dogs, Spike and J.R., jump all over him. J.T. also had a quiet, philosophical side to him. He never met a stranger, had a great sense of longing for fairness and an intuition to every ones needs or feelings. J.T. had a curiosity about everything. He loved the history channel and had definite political views.He was a loving son, brother always said I love you, Sis and grandson.He is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Judy Shelton of College Station, TX mother, Robin Shelton and fianc, Kelly Smith of Carlsbad, NM brother, Chris Russell of Killeen, TX sister, Jenna Shelton of Carlsbad, NM grandparents, Dumas and Roberta Shelton of College Station, TX, Dick and Jean Blenden of Carlsbad, NM, and Jeanette Hughen of Carlsbad, NM uncle, Phil Blenden and wife Gina of Carlsbad, NM and aunt, Sandi Blenden of Los Angeles, CA. A funeral service for J.T. Shelton was held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. D. Michael Lee of Victory Baptist and the Rev. Craig Cockrell of First United Methodist Church officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 12, 2005 in City Cemetery, 2530 Texas Ave. S., College Station, TX with Rev. Johnny Sloan of Rock Prairie Baptist Church officiating. There will be no visitation.
