Joyce Williams

Kerrville Joyce C. Fontenot Williams, 74, of Kerrville, passed from this life at her home on June 11, 2011.

Born in Rayne, LA on June 1, 1937, she was the daughter of Wallace and Annie Leger Fontenot. She had been a resident of Kerrville for the past 12 years.

A graduate of Rayne, LA high School, she continued her education and was a graduate of Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in Beaumont, TX receiving her RN degree.

Joyce worked as an RN for many years at various doctors offices and hospitals and then went to work for Texaco as an industrial nurse, retiring after 30 years with Texaco.

A woman of great faith, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ingram.

She enjoyed nature and was especially fond of Gods creatures, making a home for many cats, dogs, and other pets throughout her life. She spent many hours volunteering at humane societies.

She was met at the Pearly Gates by her parents and three brothers, Cline, Ferdie and Winson.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Sammy Williams of Kerrville her cherished children, Sammy Williams, Jr., of Kerrville and Michelle Williams of Kerrville a brother, Wallace Fontenot of Rayne, LA sisters, Jeanette Cormier of Denver, CO and Lois Petitjean of Rayne, LA nieces, nephews and grandkittys.

ation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 58PM.

A celebration of her life will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 10AM with Pastor Ray Tear, officiating. Committal services will follow at Garden of Memories, Kerrville.

The family suggests that donations be made to the humane society of your choice, be better a cause that was near and dear to Joyces heart.
