Joyce Bassinger

Kerrville-Joyce Wells Bassinger, 93, of Kerrville, Texas, passed from this life at the home of her loving daughter and son-in-law in Ingram, Texas on August 26, 2015.

Joyce was born July 8, 1922 in Llano, Texas. She grew up with her wonderful parents Lelia Bryant Wells and Williams Rafe Wells on Summit Avenue in San Antonio, Texas. While attending Thomas Jefferson High School, Joyce performed with the school's 'Lasso Team' and once marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On October 28, 1944, she married Lester Pendleton Bassinger of Houston, Texas where they lived and were happily married for 60 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lester Bassinger and her parents Lelia and William Wells.

Surviving Joyce are her sister, Jean Wright and husband Roscoe; daughter, Lezlie Bassinger Snyder and husband, Mark; granddaughter, Stephanie Snyder McClain and husband Peter; great-grandson, Gideon McClain; great-granddaughter, Eden McClain; niece, Barbara Caulk; and nephews Russel Wright and Mark Wright.

A time of visitation with the family and friends has been set for Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Kerrville Funeral Home at 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville.

A private interment will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 in Houston, Texas at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
