Joseph Gaspard

Joseph Maney Gaspard, 69, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on August 16, 2005 at his residence after a long illness.Mr. Gaspard was born December 3, 1935 in Eunice, Louisiana to Maney and Rose Gaspard. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He married Haruko Nakamura on January 12, 1973 in Havelock, North Carolina. After retiring he went to work for EDS, private enterprise, and the VA Hospital in Kerrville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the U.S.M.C.C.I.A. Joseph was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He was known for his humor, generosity, and joy of life. Joseph never met a stranger. He will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by a son, Jaye M. Gaspard, Jr., his parents, sister, Dolly Watts, and brothers, Russell and James Gaspard.He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years , Haruko brothers, Roy, George and Michael sisters, Marge Kellner, Ruby Manuel, Martha Duhon, Barbara Fuselier, and Janelle Manuel.Services for family and friends will be held at the home at a later date.
