John Spikes

Hunt John V. Spikes passed away on April 15, 2010 in Hunt, Texas. John was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 24, 1937.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, godfather, and mentor, Johns spirit lives on in countless family and friends. Leading by example, John believed in an honest days work, helping others, serving the community, and mentoring young people. He believed the hope for the future was our countrys youth. He put this passion to work, dedicating himself to the Hunt ISD Board, Greystone Preparatory School, and Ignite, Inc., which promotes projectbased high school aero science classes.

A retired business manager, he lived in Hunt with his wife Virginia Spikes. He is also survived by his children: Jeff Spikes and wife Crystal of Phoenix, Arizona his daughter Susan Spikes of New Jersey, and grandchildren.

In recognition of this outpouring of support, a celebration of Johns life is planned for 11:00 am on Saturday, April 24th at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Main Tivy, Kerrville, Texas.
