Nashville, TN John F. Preer, 88, of Franklin, TN died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Williamson Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born in Tallassee, AL to the late Rev. Carleton and Capitola Preer. Mr. Preer served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was part of the first wave of the invasion of Omaha Beach on D Day. He attended Auburn University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Geology, working for many years in the Texas oil fields. Mr. Preer was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN. To know John was to love him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Preer was preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. Preer sister, Virginia Cammack and brother, BG Carleton Preer, U.S. Army Ret. He is survived by sister, Sara P. Edmunds of Brentwood, TN nephews: Rev. John C. Teresa Preer of Conway, SC, Carl E. Preer of Arlington, VA, Jack Annis Cammack, Jr. of Birmingham, AL, David Nancy Edmunds of Nashville, TN, Carleton Donna Edmunds of Knoxville, TN niece, Penny Gary Turner of Wellington, FL and numerous greatnephews and greatnieces. A Graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2007 with Rev. Kathryn Morton officiating at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 3250 Fredericksburg Road, Kerrville, Texas 78028. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
