FLORESVILLE John Edwin Peterson, 91, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas. He was born on October 21, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Emil and Mabel Hornburg Peterson.
He served in the United States Army, 66th Infantry Division, Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop from 1942 thru 1946. John attended the University of Missouri Columbia and graduated as an Electrical Engineer. He married Frances C. Schuster in Milwaukee, WI on December 27, 1977. After operating his own business for many years in Milwaukee, they retired to the Fredericksburg Kerrville area upon completing several years of RVing.
John was an active membersupporter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees N.A.R.F.E and a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Kerrville, TX.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Frances C. Schuster Peterson of Kerrville, TX daughters, Pamela W. Peterson Leventhal and husband Jack of Bloomfield, NJ, Emily Lynn Peterson of New York City, NY, and Nancy J. Hodge and husband Arthur of Waukesha, WI stepchildren, Lori B. Rogowski and husband John, Jeffrey P. Monday, and Gregory F. Monday grandchildren, Andrew W. and Adam Hodge, Luke Perez, Daniel and Emily Rogowski, Max and Nichole Monday greatgrandson, Ty along with many friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly.
Memorial Services for John will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the sanctuary of St. Peters Episcopal Church with Fr. Stockton Williams
and Fr. Tom Murray officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium, with military honors provided by the Vietnam Veterans Association.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Peters Episcopal Church or to the Habitat for Humanity, Kerrville Chapter.
