John Kerr Jr.

John Martin Buzz Kerr Jr. went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2013.
Buzz was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Story City, Iowa, to Cecilia and John Kerr Sr. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army and played football for the Stars and Stripes Exhibition football team. He also attended and played football for Sam Houston State University.

Buzz was a resident of Kerrville for 20 years. He enjoyed serving others, and he will be remembered for feet that were to respond, hands that were capable to help and a contagious smile.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy. They were married for 50 years.

He delighted in his two sons and their families. John and his wife, Kimberly, live in Leakey, Texas, and they have three children, Coleman, Kalin and Gideon. Colin and his wife, Brenda, live in Evansville, Ind., and they also have three children, Caleb, Jacob and Joel.
Buzz demonstrated the reality of his faith by loving God and loving others. He is known by many as a selfless, extraordinary man. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Kerrville Bible Church.
