John Michael Garcia

John Michael Garcia, 51, of Kerrville, passed from this life on November 2, 2024. 

 Mike was born July 6, 1973 to Sylbia Pena Gonzales and Antonio Garcia, Sr. in Kingsville, Texas; he grew up and spent most of his childhood in San Diego, Texas. He moved to Kerrville as an adult. He then became a loving father to Olivia and Harley Garcia. It is also where he met his wife, Teresa in 2002 and they were married August 18, 2007 and were married 17 years. Mike worked for the First Presbyterian Church for 11 years and then the First United Methodist Church for 2 years; he loved serving his church. Mike was well known as "Mustang Mike". He loved muscle cars especially his red-orange mustang "Sally". His hobbies were racing, music, karaoke, BBQing, and spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandchildren who he adored. 

 Mike is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Garcia Sr.; aunt, Rosa Garcia; and cousin, Rene Garcia. 

Those left to honor his memory include his spouse, Teresa Garcia; mother, Sylbia Pena Gonzales; daughters, Olivia L. Blackburn (Patrick), Harley R. Garcia, Stephanie Powell, Alexandria Powell; siblings, Michelle Garcia (Antonio), Melissa Garcia (Christopher), Antonio Garcia, Jr. (Vanessa), Luis Albert Garcia (Francis); 3 grandchildren, Mason L. Armstrong, Birdie Maxine Blackburn, Annie Jean Blackburn; many nieces and nephews; and 4 fur babies.   

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Kerrville Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Rob Lohmeyer officiating.
