Kerrville John Morris Cody, 71, of Kerrville died October 15, 2005 at a local care facility. A stranger to none, survived by his wife of forty nine years, Ella Ray Cody of Kerrville, Texas his brother, Reynolds and his wife, Carolyn his son, Jim and his wife Kathy and their children, Dana and William Cody of El Paso, Texas and his great friends through thick and thin for many years, Gayle and Bill Hammons, Cathy WallenVail, Chet and Bernie Pitts, and extended family members. John retired form the U.S. Air Force with twentytwo years of service most of it with Security Service and the U2 program at Laughlin AFB. John loved his work with the Lions Club. He was past president of the Host Lions Club in Del Rio, Texas and current president of the Heart of the Hills Lions Club in Kerrville, Texas. He was a York and Scottish Rite member and a life time member of the Masonic Lodge No. 646 in Del Rio, Texas. John was one of the founding Elders of the Del Rio Christian Church, in 1983, where he served many years in doing the work of the Lord. John was elected as a County Commissioner for Val Verde County in 1988 and served three full terms ending in December of 2000.Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kerrville Funeral Home with Will Parradeaux officiating, and viewing at 10:00 a.m. and family visitation after services. There will be no graveside services. In lieu of flowers memorials may go to the Del Rio Christian Church, Lions Camp of Kerrville, Shriners Hospital or the Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital.
