Joe Puckett

Joe Leslie Puckett, 71, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on October 26, 2006 at a care facility in Kingsland, Texas.Joe was born Jan. 4, 1935 in Millersview, Texas at his parents home. He was the only son of George W. Puckett and Allie Stevens Puckett, both of whom have preceded him to their home in Heaven.Joe began his schooling in Blanket, Texas. He attended school from the 2nd to the 11th grade in Brownwood, Texas. The family then moved to Brady where he finished high school.He was married to Tempie Lee Thompson on July 9, 1954. They were blessed with four wonderful children Tenna, Tammy, Teresa, and Todd.Joe worked in McGregor, Texas for H. B. Zachery Co. for 2 years, and then in Brady, Texas at Safeway for 4 years. In 1985 he received his LVN nursing license and became a nurse on the Med. Surgical Center floor at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1999.Next to God and family he felt that his need was nursing. He said I feel like helping others richly blessed my life and kept me closer to my faith, and the need to make life better for someone else. I feel like God gave me this gift and the ability to use it.Joe is survived by three daughters and one son, Tenna Latronica and husband Rocko, Tammy Taunton, Theresa Hardee and husband Juluis, Todd Puckett, and one sister, Jayne Gregg and husband Forrest, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
