Jo McGee

Kerrville Mrs. Jo McGee, 88, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Kerrville.

Mrs. McGee was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Texas. She grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 19.

As a preteenager, she learned the bookkeeping trade on the job. She honed her skills in that craft until she retired in her early 80s. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for several businesses in Kerrville.

She and Alvin E. McGee, also of Amarillo, were married in June 1970. They traveled extensively and wore out several motor homes. Mr. McGee preceded her in death.

Her only sibling, Edmund R. Gable, was shot down and killed over Germany during World War II. He was a ballturret gunner on a B17 bomber.

She is survived by two sons, Carroll P. Wilson of Temple, Texas, and John E. Wilson of Kerrville and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

ation will be held from 5 7 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 7, 2011, in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home with Chaplain J. Carpenter officiating. Interment will be held in Wichita Falls on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
