Corpus Christi Jewell Ince Smith entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2012, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She had been a resident of Marble Falls, Texas, for 18 years until her recent move to Corpus Christi.
Born in Amarillo on September 14, 1929, to Lucy Jane and Earl William Ince, Jewell was the fifth of ten children. She was raised in Lubbock, graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech University.
Jewell was blessed with many talents and interests, including golf, dancing, knitting, crochet, quilting, reading and music. She was skillful and creative at sewing and crafts. The Santa Claus figures she fashioned with her sister Judie are true works of art.
Jewell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas A. Jack Smith, three brothers Earl Jr., Jerry and David Ince and one sister Justine Kerr. She is survived by three sisters Betty Clawson of Marble Falls, LaJuanah Taylor of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Judie Ince and Sue Bisher of Kingsland two brothers Carl Ince of Marble Falls and Gerald Ince Sharon of Lubbock her children Mike Smith Jane of Houston, Susan Lewis Bob of Corpus Christi, and Tom Smith Marsha of Austin seven grandchildren Noble Douglass Brandi of College Station, Michael Smith Lori of Houston, Katherine Lewis of Austin, Robert Lewis of New York City, Aaron Smith, Brandon Smith, and Cody Smith, all of Austin, six greatgrandchildren Adam King Sara, Lindsey Douglass, Lauren Douglass, Jackson Smith, Easton Smith, and Michael Alexander Smith and one greatgreat grandchild, Addilyn King. Also surviving her are nine nieces and seven nephews.
Jewell was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is greatly loved and she will be greatly missed.
ation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 1 2 PM at First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at the church on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 2 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, 2 PM at the City of Lubbock Cemetery, Lubbock, Texas.
