JEWEL LEONTINE PIKE SEALE, aged 91, passed away at her home in Center Point, Texas, March 21, 2007. Jewel, known to most as Tincy, was born January 7, 1916, in Houston. She graduated in 1935 from Sam Houston High School, where she was a member of the Black Battalion Drill Team. She studied dance and danced professionally, partnered with her first husband Jon Zerby. After their divorce in 1940, she retired from the stage. She was married to her second husband, Fred Seale, for 59 years, until his death in 2000. Tincy will be remembered for her beauty, her strong independence, her kind generosity and selfsacrificing nature, and her love for animals. She rescued and cared for dozen of lost and abandoned dogs during her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Seale, son Jim Burnette Seale, parents P. L. and Mary Leona Pike, sister Artelia Pike Bartels, and brother Jimmy Pike. She is survived by sons John Zerby, Steven Seale, and Ronald Seale, eight grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, April 2, 2007, 2:30 PM, at Forest Park Cemetery, Chapel of Angels, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas.
