Jerry James Journey of Kerrville, Texas passed away from his life at the age of 78 on January 1, 2018. Born June 16, 1939 to John B. Journey and Minnie (Davis) Journey in Fredericksburg, Texas he grew up and graduated high school in Johnson City, Texas.
He married Janis (Luby) Journey on June 5, 1982 and had a 32 year career with the VA hospital that took him to many locations across the country. After retirement, he made custom furniture for his grandchildren and pursued a hobby in HAM radio. He was in the process of restoring a first edition 1955 Chevrolet pickup truck.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Minnie Journey, brother John Journey and a daughter Jacqueline Jean.
He is survived by his wife Janis, daughter Jerri (John) Hinrichs of Boerne, Texas, son Jim (Betty) Journey of Guam, stepchildren Delbert Hight II of Tulsa, Ok, Captain James (Jennifer) Hight of Newcastle, Ok, Michelle (Doug) Webster of Deer Creek, Ok and grandchildren Abigail, Kelsey, Caleb and Gage.
Services will be January 13, 2018 at 1PM at the Turtle Creek Community Church, 130 Molina Road, Kerrville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peterson Hospice in Kerrville, Texas.
