Jerry Keith Bratcher

Jerry Keith Bratcher, 87, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on Monday, April 18, 2022 in Kerrville.  He was born in Lubbock, TX on April 10, 1935 to Herbert and Ruth (Sullivan) Jackson.  He was later adopted by Bundy Bratcher when Ruth remarried. 

Jerry moved to Plainview, TX as a teenager where he graduated from Plainview High School.  He attended Texas Tech University, served in the Army and attended court reporting school after completion of his Army service. He married Sue Ellen McWilliams on June 24, 1961.  They moved to Memphis, TN where he worked as a court reporter and all three of their children were born.  The family moved to Plainview, TX in 1978 where he worked for his father and then as an official court reporter for the 242^nd Hale County District Court. He and Sue moved to Kerrville, TX in 2004.  Jerry was active in Rotary Club and church choirs, had served as a deacon, loved music and enjoyed bicycling, racquetball and reading.  In Kerrville, he participated in bell choir, was a Stephen Minister, tutored English at the YES Center, was active in the Tierra Linda Garden Club and had volunteered with the Tierra Linda Volunteer Fire Department. 

Jerry was preceded in death by Herbert Jackson, father; Ruth Bratcher, mother; Bundy Bratcher, father; Denise Bratcher, daughter-in-law and Jennifer Hall, great-grandaughter. 

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are wife Sue Bratcher; children Elaine Steidle (husband John), Chris Bratcher (wife Melissa), Brian Bratcher; brother John Bratcher (wife Mary Beth); grandchildren Sean Bratcher (wife Vicki), Scott Bratcher (partner Lynn), Josh Bratcher, Jared Hall (wife Katie), Nicolas Ramirez (wife Britni), Allison Johnson (partner Jordan), Ben Steidle; great-grandchildren Max Bratcher, Liam Bratcher, Coen and Jude Hall, Lucas Bratcher, Sylvie Ramirez.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, Kerrville with Rev. Dr. Jack Haberer officiating.

Memorials may be made to Tierra Linda Volunteer Fire Dept., 406 Oak Alley, Kerrville, TX 78028 or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
