Mrs. Jean B. Horgan, 80, of Kerrville, TX died Friday, October 24, 2003 at a local care facility.Mrs. Horgan was born at Fort Sam Houston on March 9, 1923 to Captain Morris Berman and Grace Gibbs Berman. At age nine months she and her family sailed from New York to the Philippines. After four years there they moved to Dayton, Ohio, then back to San Antonio where Captain Berman became the Commander at Randolph Field. Jean attended Miami University in Ohio and the University of Utah. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Soon after the start of World War II she became a classification analyst for the Civil Service. She married Maurice Horgan in 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska. After the war Major Horgans assignments took them to Japan, Turkey, and various parts in the U.S.A. Upon retiring in 1968 they lived in San Antonio and came to Kerrville in 1995. Mrs. Horgan was preceded in death by her husband Colonel Maurice Chapman Horgan in 1996 and her eldest son Colonel Thomas Galvin Horgan in 1997.She is survived by sons James B. Horgan of Kerrville and John A. Horgan of Houston, a brother Brigadier General Robert Berman of Ocala, Florida, a sister Mrs. William Hood Simpson of San Antonio and six grandchildren.
