Javier Campos, M.D.

Javier Moises Campos, MD

Age 46, went to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday August 31, 2021. Javier fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7).

A beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and physician, Javier is survived by his wife of nearly 15 years, Tiffaney Amber Campos; their two children Juliana Faith (11) and Solomon Manuel (5); parents, Juan Manuel Campos, M.D. and Esther Lucy Campos of McAllen, TX; siblings, Joaquin Miguel Campos, Rebecca Ruth Campos, Monica Haydee Campos Bowers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Javier is preceded in death by his grandparents, Victoriano and Victoria Campos of New Braunfels, TX and Manuel R. and Lucia L. Reyes of Corpus Christi, TX.

Javier Moises Campos was born on December 16, 1974 in San Antonio, TX. Javier learned the value of hard work by tending to the family garden and caring for the farm animals. He enjoyed driving the tractor, riding horses bareback, and never complained when asked to dig another hole for the many trees on his family’s property. He graduated from Sharyland Highschool in Mission, TX (1994), went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Biology at The Master’s College in California (1997), and received his Medical Degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine (2002). That same year, Javier met his future bride at First Evangelical Free Church in Austin, TX. He completed Brazos Family Medicine Residency Program with honorable recognition (2005). After residency and board certification, Dr. Campos joined the Hoerster Clinic in Marble Falls, TX. In September of 2006, Javier married his beloved. They relocated to McAllen, TX in 2008 to care for his father’s patients at The Master’s Clinic while his father was receiving treatment at MD Anderson. Desiring to return to the Hill Country, Dr. Campos joined Family Practice Associates of Kerrville in 2010, where he has cared for the community for over a decade. Javier was an active member of Kerrville Bible Church. He also served various community organizations.

Always putting people first, Javier pursued medicine to care for others. He planted seeds of the gospel on six continents using the talents God gave to him. Javier enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. He was passionate about wilderness medicine and sustainable living. Javier was known for his warm smile, enormous handshake, and contagious laugh. He was eager to serve others, generous with both his time and his resources. He loved his family and friends sincerely and faithfully pursued these relationships. Above all, Javier loved the Lord Jesus Christ whom he freely shared with those around him. While some may see being a physician as a career, to Javier it was more: It was a sincere calling and a ministry, a way that he could serve man and serve GOD. He will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know Javier Moises Campos.

The immediate family will have a private visitation and service. Others who wish to give their last respects may do so on Thursday September 16, 2021 from 5-8pm at the Kerrville Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone wear a mask and take precautions regarding the pandemic.
