Jane Johnson

Kerrville, Texas Jane Elizabeth Johnson, 81, of Kerrville, Texas peacefully entered into rest August 21, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with arthritis and osteoporosis. She was born in Galveston, and graduated from Ball High School. After receiving a teaching degree from Sam Houston State, she returned to Galveston to teach. Later becoming a wife and mother, she lived in LaMarque, Hitchcock and San Antonio. She and her husband retired to Kerrville 12 years ago.Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William Howard Johnson of Kerrville her daughter Lynn Johnson Evans of Houston sons William Howard Johnson, Jr. of San Antonio, and Martin James and Gloria Johnson of Burleson grandchildren Christopher Evans, Dana Fikes, Crystal Johnson, Howard Johnson, III, Martin Johnson, and Michael Johnson.A memorial service will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville at 1 PM on Saturday, August 23.In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the Osteoporosis Association, or the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
