Jan Michael Skowron

Jan Michael Skowron, 76, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 15, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John and Meta Loraine “Cookie” Skowron. They raised Jan in a loving, Christian home and Jan maintained a strong faith throughout his life.

Jan graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1966. In 1979, he moved to Kerrville, Texas, with his wife at the time, Bonnie, and about ten neighbors from Milwaukee, embarking on a new chapter in the Texas Hill Country.

Jan pursued broadcasting by attending radio announcing school, later working as a radio DJ. In addition to his time on the airwaves, he also dedicated part of his career to serving in law enforcement.

Jan is survived by his sons, Matthew (Megan) and Mark (Abby); and his grandchildren, Kieran (Brooke), Kevin (Nickie), Kaitlin, Miller, Hadley, Clara, Ella, and Chloe. Jan’s greatest joy was his family.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at 11am; with the funeral service starting at 12pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Kerrville Funeral Home.

Services with integrity, pride, and honor are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home. (830) 895-5111
