Dr. James “Jim” Woodham passed on February 17, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He was an accomplished Dentist for 28 years in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Lamar University, Pre-Med, and from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas, in 1971 with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He retired in 1999 to pursue his passion for snowboarding, woodworking, construction, and photography in Telluride, Colorado. He built his own timber frame house in Texas and shipped it to Colorado to assemble. Jim was a very talented person and loved a challenge. He loved the Colorado lifestyle and his mountains. His wife, Suzy, was always at his side in these adventures. He was able to pursue his dream for 22 years until the altitude became an issue, and he moved to Kerrville, Texas, in 2021.Jim was a dedicated son, husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Woodham; mother, Jane McClanahan Woodham; and his great-grandfather, James Harry McClanahan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Suzy) Blackstock Woodham, of Kerrville; his son, Dr. Ryan Woodham and wife, Christina Feller, of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, James Woodham, Natalie Woodham, Riley Daniel and Madeline Daniel; his brother, Dr. Robert Lee Woodham, of Houston; and many cousins and friends.
Jim will be cremated, per his wishes, and the ashes will be returned to Colorado in the summer where they will forever blow over the mountains he loved. There will be a Celebration of Life in Kerrville at a date to be announced. Per Jim’s wishes, it will be a party, not a funeral.
