James Edward Waldrip, 82, formerly of Kerrville, Texas passed away Wednesday evening, December 3, 2008 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri.nbspMr. Waldrip was born December 15, 1925 in Locust Bayou, Arkansas. Mr. Waldrip a long time resident of St. Joseph, Missouri retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1984. He was very active in the baseball program, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and VFW Post 11. He was a dutiful member of the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. After retiring, he and his wife Shirley traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They fell in love with the Hill Country during their travels and became permanent residents. For the last four years Mr. Waldrip resided at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri.nbspMr. Waldrip was preceded in death by his wife and has three surviving sons: Pat Waldrip of Plano, Texas Steven Waldrip of Dallas, Texas and Rod Waldrip of Rolla, Missouri a loving niece, Julie Pugh of California, Maryland. He is further survived by and was very proud of his grandchildren: Elizabeth Waldrip, Dusty Waldrip, and Katie Waldrip.nbspMemorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Riverview Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
