James Roesler

Kerrville James Arthur Roesler, 63, of San Antonio , TX, passed from this life on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in San Antonio. James was born on August 16, 1950 to Adolph K. Roesler and Rosie Jenderzyi Roesler in San Antonio, TX. James graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1972 with a degree in History and Criminal Justice. He taught history in San Antonio Schools before beginning his law enforcement career. He served in the Bexar County Sheriff department as a Deputy Sheriff in 1977, then as a patrol officer for the city of Kirby, TX. James also served in the Boerne Police Department, as a patrol Sergeant, where he was decorated on two occasions including, the Purple Heart. He began his career in the Kerrville Police Department in August of 1988, as a patrolman and was promoted to patrol Sergeant in April of 1990.

In October of 1990, James was transferred to Sergeant Investigator. In August of 1997 James was promoted to Detective Sergeant, and retired, September 30, 2001. After his retirement from law enforcement he once again became a History Teacher for the San Antonio School District as a Substitute.

James was preceded in death by his parents Adolph K. and Rosie Roesler.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his sister Christine Roesler Radtke and husband Maurice, of Smiley,TX, his niece Patricia Dylla and husband Gary, his great niecesJennifer and Mikayla Dylla all of Adkins, TX. James leaves many friends who will miss his wit and loyalty.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the main chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX. 78028.
