Kerrville James W. Jim Lightfoot, 79, passed away at a local health care facility on Friday evening, September 7, 2007.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspJim was born in Grove City, Ohio on January 25, 1928 to the late Alvah and Esther L Wiswell Lightfoot. He is also predeceased by his brother, Cletus Lightfoot of Columbus, Ohio and brotherinlaw, William Frederick of Pataskala, Ohio.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspHe is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Shirley Lahti Lightfoot of Kerrville, Texas four children, James Dale Lightfoot of Cedar Creek, Texas, Joy Campbell and her husband, Ken, of Vaughn, Montana, Wayne Lightfoot and his wife, Jane, of Austin, Texas, and Lee Lightfoot and his wife, Rebecca, of Katy, Texas a sister, Shirley Frederick of Pataskala, Ohio 7 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspJim served 20 years in the USAF, retiring as MSgt. from the Air Weather Service in 1965. Upon retirement, he was a Practical Meteorologist at Texas AM University, College Station, Texas, until 1972. After moves to Wisconsin and Arkansas, the family returned to College Station, where he was employed by Sears Service and Appliance Center until he and Shirley retired to Kerrville, Texas in 1993.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspJims greatest pleasures were his family, golf and his work after his retirement in the community as a home handyman. He will be greatly missed.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspA Memorial Service will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home, Thursday morning, September 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Bob Buffington, family friend, officiating.
