James Howard Hank Hankins, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on August 1, 2014 at a local care facility in Kerrville, Texas. He was born April 5, 1924 in Commerce, Texas.
James was raised in Brownfield, Texas. He joined the Navy in1942 as a Navy Midshipman and ly became a Navy Fighter Pilot. After his tour of duty was complete, James discharged from the Navy in 1945. Shortly thereafter James met and married his first wife, Virginia Smith in 1946. They had two children together a daughter, Saundra Sandy in November 1946 and a son, Craig in 1952. James worked for Amaco for 35 years, retiring in 1986. After the death of his first wife in 1993, James thought love was lost to him until Marlyn Ann Watson walked into his life bringing such joy and love, they were married on August 27, 1994. James loved to travel all over the United States. When at home, he liked spending time working in the yard. At a young age, James grew to love the outdoors, fishing and hunting when time and weather allowed. James was a loving and devoted father, husband, and son, who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
James is preceded in death by his parents, James Bedford Hankins and Clyde Alexander first wife of 48 years, Virginia Katheryne Smith and his daughter, Saundra Kay Davidson
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Marlyne Ann Hankins son, Craig Hankins grandson, Brian Davidson and his great granddaughter, Saundra Brooke Davidson.
The family invites you to come to the ation, held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 4PM to 5:30PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 10 AM, with Interment to follow at Garden of Memories.
