James Jim Harvey Colvig, Jr., 75, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on April 30, 2006 at a local hospital.Mr. Colvig was born January 31, 1931 to James and Leona Colvig in Lorain, Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He entered the enlisted ranks and spent 8 years before entering and graduating from Officers Candidate School in 1958. Jim was chosen Commander of his squadron. After 27 years in the Air Force, he retired as a Major. From his career in Fuels Logistics, Jim entered the private sector of business in the oil industry. He was well known and respected as an excellent businessman with his positions of buying and selling. He retired from British Petroleum in 1992. Jim was currently serving as President of the Texas Hill Country Chapter of MOAA Military Officers of America Association and had previously served as 2nd VicePresident and Secretary. He was a fine gentleman known for his smile and good humor for everyone.Jim and wife, Lane, moved to Kerrville in 1993. He was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Everett Colvig and sister, Marlene Mayer. He is survived by wife, Lane Jones Colvig four children of his own, Susan George of California and two grandchildren Jan Sparks of Washington Jim Colvig and wife Sue of Virginia and two grandchildren Kelly Davis of Colorado and three grandchildren. He had three stepchildren, Michael Everett and wife Susan of Massachusetts and two grandchildren Michelle Everett of Washington and one grandchild and Craig A. Jones and wife, Valerie of Texas and one grandchild, Dale brother, Robert Colvig of Tennessee, and also dear friends, Kay and Joe Robertson and Bonnie and John Hansen who spent fun times traveling and many special days together with Jim and Lane.
