Jaime Olivas

Jaime Olivas, 38, of Kerrville went to be with the Lord May 21, 2004 at his residence. He was born in La Junta, Chihuahua, Mexico on December 15, 1965 to Felicitas Arrellanes and the late Porfirio Olivas. He lived most of his life in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Kerrville three and a half years ago, and married Becky Afshari. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, fishing, taking his grandson Michael to the park to feed the ducks, and walking his faithful companion, Budweiser, his Basset Hound. He loved the Hill Country and its friendly people. Survivors include his wife, Becky Afshari, sons, Jaime, Jr., Christian, and Ivan Olivas from Melrose Park, IL stepson, Eric Afshari grandson, Michael Afshari mother, Felicitas Arrellanes of Albuquerque, NM sisters, Felicia Andrade and husband Navor of Franklin Park, IL Lidia Olivas de Palma of Chihuahua, Mexico Mirna Olivas of Franklin Park, IL Estela Olivas of Melrose Park, IL brothers, Porfirio Olivas and wife Sandra of Kerrville, Jose Angel Olivas of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Jesus Olivas and wife Luisa of Albuquerque, NM motherinlaw, Delia Aguero of Kerrville fatherinlaw, Lorenzo Hernandez of Kerrville sistersinlaw, Linda and Bruce Sandefur of Austin, TX, Viviana and Roy Gonzales, Amelia Aguero of Kerrville brothersinlaw, Lupe and Christi Aguero, Alex and Elma Aguero, Ricky and Christi Aguero, Julian and Vangie Aguero all of Kerrville, and numerous nieces and nephews.In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Jaime Olivas in the Rebecca Afshari Special Benefit Account at the Wells Fargo Bank in Kerrville.A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Mike Boulette as Celebrant.Memorial services will begin at 6:00PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with the recitation of the Rosary by Deacon Daniel Arriaga and a memorial service to follow with Chaplain Frankie Enloe officiating. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
