Amarillo J Deane Rhodes, 75, of Amarillo, Texas died peacefully at BSA Hospice Center in Amarillo, Texas on Sunday, February 29, 2004. Mr. Rhodes was born on September 28, 1928 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Robert Lee and Sarah Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes attended school in Walnut Springs, Texas, and later served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Dorothy Robinson in Brownfield, Texas in 1966. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for years before retiring in 1986 and was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Rhodes is preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and three brothers.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Robinson Rhodes of Amarillo, TX one sister, Frankie Seale Allen of Brownfield, TX one brother, Billy K Rhodes and wife Thelma of Hico, TX a host of many nieces, nephews, friends, and loving neighbors.Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX with the Rev. Rodger Johnson of Northside United Pentecostal Church officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Fulton Cemetery in Walnut Springs, Texas with the Rev.
