THE DOORS OF HEAVEN OPENED FOR ISADORE JOHNNY BINSTEIN ON DECEMBER 20, 2006, 5 DAYS BEFORE HIS 86TH BIRTHDAY. HE WAS THE SECOND OF FOUR CHILDREN BORN TO JOE AND GUSSIE BINSTEIN IN CARTERET, NEW JERSEY.AFTER GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND WORKING IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS JOHNNY PROUDLY SERVED HIS COUNTRY DURING WWII AS A SOLDER IN THE U.S. ARMY. HIS UNIT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TO LAND IN AFRICA. AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL AFRICA CAMPAIGN HIS UNIT BATTLED THROUGH ITALY, THE ALPS AND FRANCE. JOHNNY WAS HONORABLY DECORATED NUMEROUS TIMES FOR HIS VALOR, EXCELLENCE AND DEDICATION OF SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY.AFTER HIS DISCHARGE, HE MOVED TO HOUSTON, TEXAS COMMENCING A LONG CAREER IN SALES. HE STARTED HIS OWN SALES ORGANIZATION THAT SERVED THE OUTLYING COMMUNITIES DURING THE 50s. DUE TO THE URBAN GROWTH SPREADING OUT TO THESE COMMUNITIES THE DEMAND FOR HIS SERVICES WAS BEING REPLACED BY THE SHOPPING MALLS. JOHNNY CHANGED HIS FOCUS TO BECOME A VERY SUCCESSFUL SALESPERSON, FOR ONE OF THE LARGEST RETAILERS IN THE COUNTRY FOR THE NEXT THIRTY YEARS.IT WAS DURING HIS MOVE TO TEXAS THAT HE MET AND FELL IN LOVE WITH KATHRYN ALLEN HOWARD. TOGETHER THEY CHERISHED 46 YEARS OF HAPPINESS ALWAYS BEING A SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER IN GOOD TIMES AND BAD AND IN SICKNESS OR HEALTH. THEY SHARED MANY BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL TRIPS AROUND THE WORLD. JOHNNY WAS THE QUINTESSENCE OF A TOUR GUIDE. HE COULD RECITE FACTS AND PRACTICALLY UNKNOWN INFORMATION ABOUT SOME OLD DIRT ROAD ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS PART OF THE CHISHOLM TRAIL OR SOME OTHER LONG AGO AND FORGOTTEN PART OF HISTORY. JOHNNY WAS LEFT TO CHERISH HER MEMORY IN 1993.IT WAS IN THE SUMMER OF 1987, HE AND KATHRYN BUILT THEIR RETIREMENT HOME IN KERRVILLE, TEXAS. HIS LOVE OF THE HILL COUNTRY AND ITS HISTORICAL PAST INTRIGUED JOHNNY. HE AND KAY SPENT MANY HAPPY HOUR DAYS DRIVING AROUND EXPLORING AND SAVORING THE BEAUTY AND HISTORY OF THE HILL COUNTRY.JOHNNY WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, HIS LOVING WIFE, AN OLDER SISTER, DOROTHY WEINER AND LEAVING TO CHERISH HIS LIFE IS HIS DAUGHTER, GERRIAN HARRISON, HER HUSBAND, ORAN, ONE GRANDDAUGHTER, THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, HIS BROTHER, SAM, SISTER, EDITH ELISOR, MANY FRIENDS, NUMEROUS COUSINS, NIECES AND NEPHEWS..
