Kerrville Ida Regina Mapplebeck, 88, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local health care facility on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009.
Born on February 7, 1921 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Jacob and Karoline Molter Weisenstein, she and her family immagrated to the United States when she was 5.
At the age of 16, she married George R. Mapplebeck in October of 1936 and travelled the world with him as he served in the US Army. It was during these times that she met and made many lifelong friends. Her wit and clever stories were always a joy for anyone that knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband, George R. Mapplebeck, her sons, Lemont and James Mapplebeck, her grandson, Richard Milam and her parents.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her daughter, Linda Lang and husband, Norman, of Kerrville her grandchildren, James C Milam and his wife Louann, of Allen, TX, Stephen and Connie Lang of Corona, CA., Mona and Grant Childress of Gilbert, AZ., Scott and Jan Lang of Costa Mesa, CA., Julene and Rick Kostszewa of Westminister, CA.Eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
According to Mrs. Mappelbecks wishes, services will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to express there gratitude to Sterling House of Kerrville and VistaCare Hospice for all the loving care and support they showed to Mrs. Mapplebeck.
