Ida Mae Black, 88, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on November 19, 2024 at her residence. 

Ida Mae was born July 5, 1936 to John and Mary Ware Baker in Graham, Texas. She grew up in Dryden with her three brothers, Charles, Reggie and Ray Baker and sister, Erma Dean Baker. She graduated from Sanderson High School, then worked at Bell Telephone. She married Jimmy Black on October 30, 1956 and they settled in Fort Stockton. They had 4 daughters who all graduated from Fort Stockton High School, and they moved to Kerrville in 1994. 

Ida Mae is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her siblings.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Suzan Monk and husband Danny, Julie Cypert and husband Brett, Cindy Bacon and husband Bill, and Jami Chavarria; 11 grandchildren, Danielle, Amanda, Cody, Garrett, Yates, Victoria, Caroline, Anneliese, Jessica, Kaci, Elizabeth; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Kerrville with Pastor Joey Tombrella officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024 at Kerrville Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers will be Danny Monk, Brett Cypert, Bill Bacon, Raul Chavarria, Cody Monk, Garrett Cypert, Yates Cypert and Jared Martin.

Memorials for Ida Mae may be made to the First Baptist Church of Kerrville.
