Fredericksburg Henry Jarrell Baker, Jr., 81, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on May 21, 2012 in a Fredericksburg hospital. Henry was born on July 30, 1930 in Robstown, TX to the late Louetta Thomas and Henry Jarrell Baker, Sr.
Having grown up in Kerrville, TX, he graduated from Tivy High School in 1948. He attended Schreiner Institute for two years and furthered his education at the University of Texas, Austin, TX after which he joined the United States Air Force in 1950. Upon completion of his commitment to our country, he returned to Austin and finished his education at the UT.
Mr. Baker married the love of his life, Rita Lambert on September 30, 1951 in Wichita Falls, TX. He and Rita resided in Austin for two years, they then moved to Corpus Christi, TX, staying for there for about 20 years. They returned to Kerrville in 1992. Henry was employed at Mooney Aircraft Corporation for 20 years and retired in 1998.
Preceding him death are his parents, and a brother, Cecil Baker.
Those left to honor and cherish his memories are his wife, Rita Baker daughter, Deborah Baker Cooley soninlaw, Kevin Cooley grandson, Jon Ryan Cooley sister, Katherine Baker Barner, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
A visitation was held from 57 PM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Funeral Services are to be held today at 1 PM, Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX with Pastor Joseph Fegenbush officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the Funeral Home Event Center. Interment will follow at 3 PM, Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX
