Helen Moore

Helen Moore, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Moore was born on August 18, 1915 in Hutchison, Kansas to J.R. and Orpha B. Anderson. Mrs. Moore grew up in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, mostly in the Pharr area. She married the love of her life, the son of a former Kerr County and District Clerk, Mr. Arch Douglas Moore on February 14, 1937 in McAllen, Texas. She had been a resident of Kerrville since 1977 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville.Loving to travel, Mrs. Moore followed her passions by traveling throughout the United States and North America. From the East Coast to the West Coast, and to the northern most state of Alaska, she fulfilled her desires of visiting many beaches, which she truly enjoyed. She was an accomplished pianist, naturally loving music. Mrs. Moore was a bit of a naturist enjoying the beauty of nature, wild birds, and gardening, of which she was a member of a local gardening club.Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Douglas Ray Moore.She is survived by her sons, James Pat Moore and wife Charlene of Houston, Texas, and F. Russell Moore of Houston, Texas six grandchildren, Jimmy, John, Charla, Kristen, Tracey, and Warren eight greatgrandchildren, Shannon, Chelsea, Matthew, Jonathan, David, John, Camryn, and Keeton along with a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and church family.A Memorial Service for Mrs. Moore will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 26, 2005 in the Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028, with the Rev. Warren Hornung, Sr. Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Kerrville officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Vista Care Hospice, 1001 Water Street, Kerrville, Texas 78028 or to the First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, Texas 78028.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
