Harriet Clemens

Harriet J. Clemens, age 76, of Kerrville passed away Thursday, September 26, 2002 at a San Antonio hospital. She was born on September 24, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Frank Shannon and Pearl Guiney Shannon. She married Ogden Clemens on March 27, 1948 in Chicago. They lived in Chicago for 32 years before moving to Pittsburg in 1978, Houston in 1987 and then to Kerrville in 1994. Harriet enjoyed her home where ever they lived. She was at home in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved flowers, especially roses. Everywhere they lived she had to have her rose garden. Harriet and her family loved to travel and spent many summers in Florida. Among her favorite destinations were Hawaii and St. John. She was an early riser and cherished her sunrise strolls along the beach. She was drawn to the water. In addition to her walks along the shore, she loved to swim. Harriet is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ogden of Kerrville, children Michael A. Clemens of South Dakota John O. Clemens of Kerrville Christine M. Jones and husband Phillip of Cyprus, TX and Robert F. Clemens of Fairfax, VA as well as three grandchildren.A family visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kerrville Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel.Donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Harriets memory.
