Guadalupe Gonzales, 67, of Ingram, TX was called home Thurs, Dec. 18, 2003, in Fredericksburg, TX.Mr. Gonzales was born July 17, 1936 in LaPrior, Texas to Domingo and Gregoria Gonzales. He worked as a welder in Michigan for several years, and moved back to Texas in 1978. Mr. Gonzales and his wife Sara raised 6 of their children and adopted 2 more. He loved his wife and his children and he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, and doing yard work and gardening. He loved all of his animals especially his 3 dogs. He was a quiet, simple, and gentle man. He was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church.He is preceded in death by his son Jose Manuel Maldonado, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Domingo Gonzales, and brothers, Gerardo Gonzales and Felipe Gonzales.He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Sara Gonzales, 3 daughters and spouses, Mary Jane Loredo, Gloria and Rudolph Wheatfall, Jr. of Kerrville, Patsy and Oscar Palomo of Michigan, 5 sons and spouses, Guadalupe and Jean Gonzales, Rudy Gonzales of Arkansas, Greg and Mary Gonzales of Austin, TX, Adam Gonzales of Kerrville, beloved daughterinlaw, Maria Louisa Maldonado of Austin, TX, 2 sisterinlaws, Delia Gonzales of San Saba and Ricarda Gonzales of Michigan also surviving him are 35 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30AM Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Mike Boulette officiating with interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. A Rosary will be 6:00PM Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Kerrville Funeral Home, Deacon Charles Domingues officiating, with visitation to follow. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Leo Tynan and Dr. Charles Burg, and also the nurses in ICU and at Central in the Hill Country Memorial Hospital for their help in caring for their father.Daddy, God looked around his garden and saw an empty space He then looked down from heaven and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and took you in His care, to make up for all your hard work. He wanted you up there. It broke our hearts to see you go, but, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
