Kerrville Glenn Ray Wallace passed on to his new life in Heaven at the age of 76 on Saturday evening, August 22, 2009 at home with his family gathered around him.
He was born in San Juan, Texas, on January 8, 1933, to James Lesley and Verna Collenbaugh Wallace, the youngest of seven children.
Glenn earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Pan American College U.T.P.A.Edinburg and his Masters Degree in mathematics from Texas A I. Texas A.M. Kingsville with postgraduate work from Stephen F. Austin University.
He taught in Donna and PSJA high schools for several years before finishing his Masters degree in 1969 when he joined Texas Southmost Jr. College U.T.Brownsville. He served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department for many years and was a very respected and talented instructor.
Glenn and his family resided in Los Fresnos, Texas, for 23 years. Upon his retirement in 1993 from UTB, he and Marvene moved to Kerrville and built their dream home at Tierra Linda Ranch.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son James Lee Wallace of Los Fresnos, Texas, his brothers James, Kent, Douglas, Billy and twin sister Gladys Wallace Fitzgerald.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife of 54 years, Marvene Anderson Wallace, and daughters Katherine Wallace and husband Kenneth Dee Carey of Boerne, and Janice Wallace of Kerrville his sister Faye Wallace Butsch of Arlington, Texas.
Glenns family wishes to thank the office staff, nurses and aides of Kerrville Peterson Hospice and Alternative Health Care, as well as Dr. Gerald Price for their dedicated care. The love, prayers and support of friends at Trinity Baptist Church, Tierra Linda Ranch and long time friends from the Rio Grande Valley have been a source of comfort to the family.
Floral arrangements are acceptable or donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church ShortTerm Missions, Peterson Hospice or charity of choice.
A funeral services is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00AM at Kerrville Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. John Petty. Graveside services will follow on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:00AM at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito, Texas, with Rev. George Morrison of Alamo, Texas, officiating.
