Kerrville Gerald N. quotJerryquot Wright, 81, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local hospital on October 2, 2011.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on March 5, 1930, he was the son of George Alden and Delma Lois Reeves Wright.

Jerry served in the US Navy at the end of WWII in Submarine Service.

After the service he attended and graduated from Texas Tech, Class of 1951, followed by some post graduate studies.

He worked for the Soil Conservation when he graduated, then taught Biology at Wichita Falls High School for a year.

For 7 years, he lived and farmed in Byers, TX, and then in 1959, he moved to Irving, TX, living there for 30 years.

He was a traveling salesman for many years and then bought a pick up and trailer and started a furniture delivery service.

He and his wife moved to Kingsland, TX for 3 years and then to Comanche County, where he ranched and farmed for 10 years.

In 2007, they retired to Kerrville in the Highlander Development.


He was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church of Kerrville.



He is predeceased by his parents.



Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Mattilyn quotPetequot Lovelace Wright of Kerrville his son, Rick Wright of Kerrville his daughter, Janet Batjer of Chicago, IL, his grandchildren and many friends.





There will be no visitation.



A Celebration of his life will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Kerrville, on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:30PM.
