Gerald Jerry William Hartman, 74, of Ingram, TX passed from this life April 15, 2014 in a local care facility. He was born January 21, 1940 in Detroit, MI. to Marjorie Bliss and Bernard Hartman. Proud of his Detroit, MI heritage Jerry joined the Coast Guard after graduation from Notre Dame High School High School later, he worked for American Airlines although the majority of his employment was involved in the automotive business where he became a member of Pattern Makers League. He wife, Judith Nehr bore 3 children: James Jim, Eric, Deborah. He moved to TX in 1993 to Kerrville in 1995employed at Mooney Aircraft as a machinist. In 1996, he married Peggy Margaret Meilbeck also the year he received the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis at the Veterans Administration in Kerrville, TX.
Alcoholics Anonymous became Jerrys life purpose, love, and joy since April 19, 1983. He loved water and exhibited great talent with wood working. After the Kerrville relocation Jerry renewed his membership with the Knights of Columbus. He loved parties, especially the desert tables wherever he went Jerry held an immense gratitude for the VA health care system, their monthly Bingo games, and, of course, his Cheetos. Jerry perceived grand parenting as one of Gods greatest gifts. In his simplistic manner, he prayed this prayer nightly: Father, Mother, God watch over us tonight April 15, 2014, Jerry fell asleep in Gods carea beautifully answered prayer.

Survivors include his brothers, Jack Mike, their wives Connie Monica sons, Jim wife Cathy Eric wife Leslie and daughter Deborah. His devoted wife Peggy, 3 stepchildren their spouses, Barbara Fred Gotz, Jimmy Donna Tony Laurie Grady, 9 grandchildren 1 great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, neighbors, numerous AA friends, The Knights of Columbus.

Memorial Mass will be held 9:30 AM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Gustavo Montanez as Celebrant.
