George E. Keith, 86, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at a local hospital. Mr. Keith was born on October 14, 1919 in Sutton, MA. to George Keith, Sr. and Hannah Phair Keith.He attended schools in Sutton, MA, and on January 10, 1942 he married Doris Holden. They made their home in Sutton, while he worked for New England Telephone in a supervisory position. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee from 1942 until 1945. Upon discharge, he returned to Sutton until he moved to Highlands, TX in 1949, while being employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.While making their home in Highlands, Mr. Keith was elected to the board of the Harris County Fresh Water Supply District 1. In January of 1958, he and Doris moved to Houston, TX where he resided until retirement on January 20, 1975. Retirement took him to Hot Springs AK and lived there until 1978. There, he was a charter member of the Hot Springs United Methodist Church. He resided in Kerrville the rest of his life, with the exception of 2 years spent in Florida. While in Kerrville, he came out of retirement to work at Hamilton Stores in Yellowstone Park for four summers, and with Reychem Corp. part time for ten years. Mr. Keith was very active in the Masonic Lodge, being raised a Master Mason in the Mumford River Lodge in Sutton, MA in 1950, with plural membership in Kerrville Masonic Lodge 697, A.F. A.M. He received his coveted 50 year membership pin in 2000.Mr. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Doris in 2000He is survived by his daughter, Dale Lanhardt of Kerrville, TX a sister, Barbara Evans of Placerville, CA. a sisterinlaw, Marion Leonard of Kerrville, TX along with a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and Brother Masons.Memorial Services Masonic Rites 10:00 AMThursday, March 30, 2006Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel1221 Junction HighwayKerrville, Texas 78028Chaplain Sam Ligon, officiatingPrivate family Interment will take place at a later date at Ft.
