George Jefferson Greene, Jr., 73, of Ingram, Texas entered into rest on February 9, 2007 at a hospital in San Antonio. Mr. Greene was born September 6, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to George Jefferson, Sr. and Abigail Greene. He married Carol Dean on May 21, 1958 in Demming, New Mexico. They lived in Corpus Christi after they were married while George attended Delmar Junior College. He then went on to graduate from Texas A M University in the class of 1963. George owned Greene Engineering Company Inc., a company specializing in Forensic Engineering. He started in Houston, Texas and lived there for twenty years then moved to Tyler, Texas for twenty years. He was one of the first in the field of Forensic Engineering and traveled all over the United States, and the world, many times piloting his own plane, because of his success in his field. His whole life was his work and was sought after for his expertise. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and numerous other professional societies. He was also an inventor, and held many patents on products. He was creative, very intelligent, and a unique individual who acquired many friends with his personality. George was raised in the Hill Country, and returned home two years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and also his step father who raised him, Jack Henderson.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Greene of Ingram daughter, Tammy Hamilton and husband Ross of Dryersburg, Tennessee two grandchildren, Zackary Hamilton of Omaha, Nebraska and Josiah Hamilton of Dryersburg, Tennessee brother, John W. Greene and wife, Claire of Corpus Christi, Texas and two nieces, Suzanne Gilliam and husband, Mark, and Gail Ramos and husband Lewis. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Lewis Ramos, Mark Gilliam, Bill Henderson, Roy Henderson, Jake Henderson, and John Allen Henderson.Memorials may be made to the donors favorite charity.
