Kerrville ndash George Paul Dahm, 88, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at a local hospital.nbsp He was born in Washington, DC on November 21, 1920 to Paul E. and Miriam Waltenberg Dahm.nbspnbspMr. Dahm was raised in the Northeastern states area.nbsp He graduated from the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, MO.nbsp In May of 1942, he became part of the 110th Engineer Combat Battalion in the United States Army, being discharged in March 1946.nbsp He married the love of his life, Mary Jo Allen on April 10, 1943 in Pasadena, CA upon which they started their family.nbspnbspnbspWorking as a Metallurgical Engineer, he spent many years with Union Carbide in the Research and Development Department.nbsp He is credited with several patents involving steel manufacturing research and development.nbsp Mr. Dahm also had a passion for fighting fires.nbsp He spent a great portion of his life as a Volunteer Fireman, and as a Deputy Sheriff for Hamilton County, OH.nbsp He was a Charter Member of the National Police Bloodhound Association, which afforded him the opportunity to volunteer with Law Enforcement agencies throughout the area using bloodhounds in tracking.nbspnbspnbspHe was a member of the American Society for Metals Life Member, National Rifle Association, and was very active in his Alumni Association for his Alma Mater.nbsp He and his wife were driving forces in planning and organizing reunions for the 110th Engineer Combat Battalion.nbspPreceding him in death are a son, Geoffrey Allen Dahm 1948, and a sister, Margaret Dahm 2000.nbspnbspnbsp He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Dahm of Kerrville, TX daughters, Sharon Lien and husband Egil of Deming, NM and Deidre Beard of Kerrville, TX grandchildren, Mathew Lien, Justin Lien, and Megan Boyd greatgrandson, Joseph Lien along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.nbspA ation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009, 3 ndash 5 PM at Kerrville Funeral Home.nbsp Graveside Services will be held at Ft.
