Sterling V. Franklin Jr., 58, of Kerrville, TX entered into rest March 21, 2004 at his residence.Mr. Franklin was born January 20, 1946 in Santa Paula, CA to Sterling V. Franklin, Sr. and Estelle Mason Franklin. He attended school in California and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1964 where he lettered in Football and Baseball. He served his country in the US Navy from 19641969 and served in Vietnam. He married Jodi Williamson, his lifetime sweetheart, on January 9, 1967. In 1977 they moved from California, where they were both raised, to Kerrville. He worked at the VA Hospital for twenty years, and served the Kerrville South Volunteer Fire Department for six years, where he was Fire Chief for two years. He also was a member of the Ingram Bass Club and loved to fish. For the past five years he had an ink cartridge manufacturing business, and had been planning his retirement. He was a loving, but private man whose life motto was keep it simple.He is preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jodi Franklin daughter, Joleen Franklin and soninlaw, Diego Laurenzi of Argentina granddaughter Trinidad Franklin Laurenzi sisterinlaw, Wanda Warren and nephew, Jason Herrill.
