FREDERICKSBURG Frances Fran Thomas, 47, of Center Point, passed away on Sunday, June 17 2007 at a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspBorn in Glens Falls, NY on November 13, 1959, she was the loving daughter of Philip G and Helene M. Ponish Birch. She grew up in Bolton Landing, NY and moved to San Antonio, TX.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspAs a teenager, Fran was diagnosed with Hodgkins, but with the love and support of her Mom, Dad and sister, was able to survive this cancer and decided to devote her life to helping children get a good start with their education. She later moved to Fredericksburg where she continued to teach.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspIn August of 1997, she married Floyd Thomas and they begain their life together in Center Point, and continued to teach in Kerrville. Even though she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999, she continued to teach while undergoing treatments. nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspMost recently, Fran taught at St Peters Episcopal School in Kerrville until complications from the return of her breast cancer prevented her from returning to her school full time. But she always found the energy to stop at the school and visit with her kids.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspFran leaves behind her devoted husband, Floyd of Center Point her loving parents, Philip and Helene Birch of Kerrville her loving sister, Sandy of Austin, TX, her husbands parents, Raymond and Carol Thomas of Center Point, a Brotherinlaw and his wife, James and Anna Thomas of Center Point, a sisterinlaw and her husband, Lora and Lee Burgar of Center Point, 3 god children, Rex Thomas, JR, Clayton Thomas and Priseis Thomas, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspation will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, June 20, 2007 from 6 8.nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspA celebration of her life will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM. A reception will be held following the services at Trinity Church, Highway 27, Center Point,nbspnbspnbspnbspnbspThe family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Funds For Fran, CO Kerr County Federal Credit Union, 3700 Memorial Blvd, Kerrville, TX 78028.
