Frances Marjorie Menzel, 95, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully at a care facility in Fredericksburg.Mrs. Menzel was born June 29, 1910 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Olai and Mabel Hanson. She was very musical even as a child, and played the piano for silent movies at a young age. She was a graduate of the University of South Dakota. She married John Jack Hugh Menzel on June 15, 1935, and they were residents of Wisconsin for 40 years where they comanaged the family sales business. She and her husband moved to the Hill Country in 1981. Jack preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage. She volunteered at the Kerrville library for several years, and enjoyed doing so. Throughout her life, Frances remained active, sharp, and organized, even maintaining her home schedule at the age of 95. She enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, gardening, and word games. Her family always remained her primary focus. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.She is preceded in death by her husband son, John Lawrence Larry Menzel and two brothers. She is survived by daughter, Lois Ralph and husband William two grandchildren, William Ralph and wife Wendy, and Ann Ralph three great grandchildren, Catherine Ralph, Elizabeth Ralph, and Margaret Ralph.Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.The family would like to thank all of Mrs. Menzels caregivers, Heart Choices, Vistacare, and Brian Oehler of the Trust Department of Security State Bank.
