Frances Gallagher

Frances E. Gallagher, age 78, of Kerrville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, July 12, 2002, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 15, 2002 at 3:00 pm at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas. Pallbearers will be Steve Kelly, Jr., Michael Kelly, Tamatha French, J.C. Gallagher, Jennifer Gallagher, Michael Conrad and John Conrad with honorary pallbearers being all other grand children and greatgrandchildren. There was a family visitation Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Kerrville Funeral Home.Mrs. Gallagher was born June 12, 1924 to Samuel and Myrtle Morris Stephens in Hillsboro, Texas. She married Coursen E. Gallagher on June 3, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked in employee relations at Dowell, a division of Dow Chemical until 1983. Mrs. Gallagher enjoyed reading, crocheting, was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, sang in the choir, played the organ and piano, and was member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Most importantly to her though was her family. She made sure that every birthday, anniversary, and occasion was remembered with a card. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, a great mom and friend.Mrs. Gallagher is survived by daughter Susan Clark and husband C.A. of Perryton, TX, son Gary Gallagher and wife Linda of Kerrville, son Donny Gallagher and wife Vickey of San Angelo, TX, daughter Kathy Kelly and husband Steve of Kerrville, brother Cecil Stephens of Columbus, OH, sisters Hattie Anderson of Euless, TX, Vera Dunlap of San Angelo, TX, JoAnn Snodgrass of Los Cruces, NM, twelve grand children, twentyfive greatgrandchildren and eight greatgreatgrandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Memorials may be made to the Pallative Care Unit of Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital or to Vista Care Hospice of Kerrville, Texas.Services are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
