Forest W. Allen, Jr., 82, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on March 5, 2007 with his loving family by his side.Forest Walter Allen, Jr. was born May 13, 1924 in Buffalo, New York to Forest Walter and Ethel M. Hohn Allen. He graduated from El Reno High School in El Reno, Oklahoma. He then continued his education and graduated from Oklahoma University. Forest married Rena Hawkins, his high school love, on July 7, 1945 in El Reno. His thirtyeight year career was with Shell Oil Company in Midland where he worked as a Gas Contract Agent. He was ordained an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, photography, model railroading and music. He volunteered for Christian Assistance Ministries C.A.M. and enjoyed helping others. Forest was a kind, patient, and loving man whose care and service to others will continue to influence all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of sixtyone years, Rena Allen five children, Skip Allen and wife Patrice of Midland, Texas, Vicki Campbell and husband Bob of Marion, Kentucky, Beth Tuxhorn and husband Steve of Monahans, Texas, Jimmy Allen and wife Gail of Dallas, and Beverly Reed and husband Jim of Parachute, Colorado eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren, sisters, Virginia Rust, Thelma M. Wright and husband Melton and brotherinlaw, Hugh Hawkins.ation will be held from 57:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Schreiner Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rob Lohmeyer officiating. Graveside services and interment will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas.The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Peterson Hospice their excellent care was a blessing.In lieu of floral arrangements memorials may be made to Christian Assistance Ministries C.A.M., or to Peterson Hospice.
